Michael Chen graduated from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, with a B.Eng. degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, and from Cambridge University with a Ph.D. degree in Control Engineering under the supervision of Prof. Malcolm C. Smith. 

    Dr. Chen is a Fellow of the Cambridge Philosophical Society and a Life Fellow of the Cambridge Overseas Trust. He has been a reviewer of the IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, the IEEE Transactions on Circuits & Systems, Automatica, the International Journal of Robust & Nonlinear Control, the International Journal of Adaptive Control & Signal Processing, and the International Journal of Systems Science, amongst others. He is now a Guest Associate Editor for the International Journal of Bifurcation and Chaos. He is a member of the IEEE and IEEE Control Systems Society.
