Professor K.Y. Sze graduated
from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, the University
of Hong Kong with First
Class Honours and as the Williamson Prizeman of the year. He continued his
studies in the same Department and earned his Ph.D. three years later. Before
returning to his alma mater, he had taken up faculty positions at Nanyang
Technological University of Singapore and City University of Hong Kong.
Professor Sze is the
recipient of the 1998 T.H.H. Pian Medal for his contribution to high
performance finite elements and the 1999-2000 Outstanding Young Researcher
Award of the University
of Hong Kong. He serves in
the editorial boards of Finite
Elements in Analysis & Design, International
Journal of Mechanics and Materials in Design, International Journal of
Theoretical & Applied Mechanics,
HKIE
Transactions, Far East Journal of Applied
