(from the owner of Kit # 27832) William Branham jr. along with several brothers and sisters changed their name to Palmer in Patrick Co., Va. and Stokes Co., N.C. The reason for the name change, was that their father William Branham had had a son by an Indian maiden earlier. This child and mother died during birth. During that time there were laws preventing anyone from owning land in the southern colonies that had mixed blood like Indian or Negro. Some thought that the children by Gracie Palmer might have been mixed. I have copies of the court records where the name change was made. This is the line I came from.
