Dr. Barbara P. Chan

Dr. B. Chan obtained her B.Sc. in Biochemistry and Ph.D. in Surgical Science Division of the Faculty of Medicine at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. She received the first postdoctoral fellowship in the Department of Orthopaedics and Traumatology in the same institution. Dr. Chan joined the Innovation and Technology Commission of the government and participated in the operation of the Innovation and Technology Fund. Dr. Chan then received the second postdoctoral fellowship in the Wellman Laboratories for Photomedicine, Massachusetts General Hospital in Harvard Medical School. Dr. Chan joined the University of Hong Kong in 2003 and is one of the core members in the Medical Engineering program. Her research interests include tissue engineering and regenerative medicine, natural biomaterials, stem cells, mechanoregulation and laser medicine.
